Awards

I have been lucky to win awards many times in my career.

Currently, awards are quite a business, with new ones popping up every year.

Awards are great, but it's very easy to enter and find yourself being judged against competition that isn't fair. For instance, most of my work have relatively low budgets and time is money, so whatever I have to do has a limited time window. Whereas some other competitors would be from major corporations that could out spend my clients 10 to 1. That's why I prefer the national Telly awards. They are judged on an independant scale, not againist each other, so there isn't one winner and 1,000 losers. If your work is in the top 20 percent of all work judged, you receive a bronze telly. If you are in the top 10%, you receive a silver telly. I have won both.

The link below will download an excel spreadsheet with all the details. Here is a summary:

RockyMountain Emmy Awards:, 29 Telly's, 5 Rocky Mountain Emmys, 2 SPJ [Society of Professional Journalists], 3 Vision Awards, 2 Communicator Awards.
